About Us

We are Leon and Maria, originally from the Netherlands and Spain but
currently residing in Richmond, BC. We are the proud parents of Alex
and Irene, who were born in 2002.

In 1999 I was offered a position in a software company in Vancouver so
we decided to embark on an adventure together and relocate here from
Madrid, Spain. Maria retired from her IT job and initially dedicated her
time to volunteering and meeting new friends. We are the proud parents
of twins, Alex and Irene, who came into our life in 2002. They are truly
amazing kids and they are the joy in our lives.

We love to travel and even when Alex and Irene were just 8 months old,
we took them to Spain. They’ve been to Europe and Mexico a couple of times now and they have proven to be great travelers as well. In my spare time I also enjoy a round of golf with my friends. 

The reality is that I would be completely lost without Maria. She is an amazing mom, an executive assistant, a first-class chef (in my book anyway), spouse, and she enables me to do what I do. In one word, she`s amazing and I am one lucky guy.

During my 18+ years in IT, I have been fortunate to meet and work with people literally all over the world. Many of them have become great friends and, although I don’t travel as much anymore, we continue to stay in touch. Like many others in this industry, I started in a technical role but for the past 10 years or so, emphasis has been on building strategic international partnerships.

Not too long ago I came across a quote that was along the lines of... “If you want a different result, you have to do something different” and it really stuck with me. This was not too long before I was confronted with an unexpected change in my job.

I realized the importance of a “Plan B”…that EVERYONE should have one and, most importantly, that if I wanted something different for me and my family that I had to make a change. I did and here we are. I can honestly say that my life has changed for the better.
